The Rams say construction on the stadium—which will be the largest and most expensive in the nation—is delayed due to heavy winter rains.
So, the $2.6-billion venue is now set to open for the 2020 football season, not the 2019 season. Until then, the Rams will continue to play at the Coliseum while the Chargers play the 2019 season at the StubHub Center in Carson.
Pushing LA’s Super Bowl back makes sense, especially considering that having the Rams’ stadium host the Super Bowl in its first year would be an “unprecedented” move, the Times says.
